    DCG crying: missmisty!!!!
    me: what happened?
DCG: (pointing at dcb while crying hysterically)
me: DCB, do you know why she's crying?
    DCB: well.
    (long pause)
...I just wanted her away from me.
me: I understand, now can you tell me what made her cry?
    DCB: well
    (another long pause)
...I maybe pushed her because I wanted her away so I made her away.
me: We don't push our friends. Let's go to time-out.
DCB: its ok though because she's not my friend. I actually don't like her.

**at this point I'm hiding a grin because logically hes telling me that he shouldn't be in trouble because didn't push "a friend".

me: I see. Well it's still not kind to push ANYONE. We use gentle hands not hurting hands. Please sit on the time-out bench.
    DCB: fine.
DCG - who has been screaming this whole time suddenly smiles this huge "I won" smile and says "OH TANK YOU MISS MISTY!!!"

I walked away giggling. both at his logic and honesty, because he really DOESNT like this little girl, but also at the fact that she THANKED ME for putting him in time-out ::

    • Not DC related.

I emailed customer service about a package that was showing received by USPS info, but was showing not received by the company's website.

The CSR's name was "Heidy O"

Oh I couldn't have kept it together without laughing. ::

Mine should maybe be a vent, but I'm laughing too hard at the super child expert speech therapist who showed up for initial visit for a 2 year old during naptime. Yeah maybe next time you'll actually contact the child's provider like you told mom you would first. ::

        • 7 month old spit up in my ear today.

The other dck's thought it was hilarious.

My reaction was certainly Oscar worthy.

Not much can make me gag or gross me out but warm, slimy, lumpy spit up in my ear canal apparently triggers my gag reflex.

My own guy did this a couple months ago with a toy drill bit, but he pooped. Oh the fun.

This reminded me of the time I was working as a customer service rep and had to call a customer to ask a question about her order. Her name was Judy Lovelace. It was very immature of me but as I dialed her phone number, I was kind of chuckling at her last name and thinking how embarrassing it must be to share a name with the actress in an infamous porn movie. Someone on the other end of the phone answered the call and I asked to speak with Judy Lovelace. When Judy came to the phone and said hello, without thinking I said, "Hi. Linda?" Thank goodness she had a sense of humor!

That memory led to another; same job. I answered a call from a customer asking to speak with "Ane-yone". I explained there was no one there by that name and asked if I could help her with something. She got angry with me and insisted she was told to call our number and ask to speak with Ane-yone. I again explained there was no one by that name there but I had access to her file and could help her. She put the phone down for a minute, saying she was going to check the message her co-worker had given her. In the background, I could hear hysterical laughter. She came back to the phone apologizing. The message she got said to call our department's 800 number and that "anyone" would be able to help her.

                    • Sitting here at my desk, the sun shining in through the windows, cool breeze across my face, reading my book with toddler tunes playing.

I suddenly realize it is really quiet. No banging blocks, no snapping magnet sets. I look around and panic a bit because I see no children.

I have already taken everyone to the door, signed them out and for no reason at all sat back down at my desk. I have been "off work" for almost 15 minutes and am home alone.

Is this how it starts? The slow slide into madness? ::::::

                      • DW was at work yesterday and realized the person she was talking to looked real familiar. It was a DCM from my center days. DCM had a picture on her ipad of me and my 2 year old class including her daughter. The reason it was on her ipad- she was putting together a digital picture montage for her daughter's HS graduation.

I'm old and been doing this way too long. ::

Well, you do have to get it on the air or you won't make any money off of it.

DH texted "First time in 3 years I take Good Friday off, and one of my teams gets arrested for cocaine and hookers on the company truck." A little TOO good of a Friday, if ya knowwhadImean.

Um, wow. "Thinly sliced cremini mushrooms..." etc. If my own children asked this of me, their mother, I would feel like I had failed massively as a parent. But that may be because one of my parenting goals is to teach my kids how to live simply and that "it's not all about you."

Because our church is pretty close knit, a few meals and some help is often the norm after a baby. But a person who got too picky for a non-medical reason would be considered a bit of a pain in the neck.

One of my neighbors would likely receive a loaf of bread and some soup. Which would probably be what my own family was eating for dinner.

“A meal would be awesome. If you feel comfortable reaching out before you arrive to see if we might need anything else — that'd be even more awesome.”

Included in their list of requests were their favorite meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including paleo breakfast egg muffins with thinly sliced cremini mushrooms, chocolate peanut butter energy balls and lamb meatball stew with orzo.

If we could use some food but prefer no distractions, I’ll put a big white cooler in our side yard,” Burns wrote.

I am fairly confident what would be in the flaming bags my neighbors would leave him. Dude better learn how to make a grilled cheese sammich.
