What do you all think? Friday, we had a little girl (18 months old) in the toddler class show up. A few minutes after her arrival, one of the teachers took a look at her shirt. The shirt had pictures and sayings from the movie "Mean Girls". One of the words printed all over the shirt was the word "wh_re" <-- put an "o" in the space. This family has been coming to the center since she was 6 weeks old. 1 - should we have said something to the mother and not allow her to wear these types of clothes in the future? 2 - just have the mother bring an appropriate shirt to change into. 3- not be concerned about it since the children in her class are all the same age and cannot read? However, she does come into contact with older children that can read and some that are old enough to know what the word mean.
This is a nice military family and we don't want to upset the mother. Suggestions?
