Welcome to the forum. Yes you can service mark your logo and I would suggest you register a domain name with your school's name. Use the http://www.uspto.gov to check on similar marks or names.

You might need to go to your Secretary of State--call the office and register your business. Here it is valid 5 years for only $25...that is just $5/year!
