  • Fun Summer Activities

I’m brainstorming some summer activities to do with the kiddos and looking for ideas that you guys have done in the past or plan to do this summer. So far I have....

    -make a fairy garden
    -tie dye shirts
-giant bubbles with hoola hoops etc
-painting terra cotta planters and plant a flower
    -water balloon fights

Any other ideas would be appreciative!

    Water table
Sprinkler or small wading pool of allowable.
    Sidewalk chalk
My sandbox is a huge hit if you don’t have one.
Adventures kit to find caterpillars, bugs etc.
Scavenger hunts either while on walks or in the yard works fine.
Walks in general are all of my kids’ favs
    Balls
Giving them paintbrushes and a bucket of water to “paint” whatever they want!
    Mud kitchen
    Painting rocks

Raise caterpillars to butterflies(Insect Lore has them)
Make a worm farm(we did a mini one a couple years ago and dcks loved it!)
Have also done the fairy garden and dcks had a blast. From there you can make fairy potions or fairy sensory bottles; there is also something we made by tearing up toilet paper and shredding soap, then adding water to it. We made it outside and the kids liked that too. It was gooey fun.

No plans just fun and sun!

We plant veggie gardens and the kids are in charge of tending to them as well as harvesting in the fall.

We also celebrate National Mud Day!...The kids absolutely LOVE it!

We also have a couple crafty activities we do every year that the kids really look forward to especially if they've been part of my program since birth...

We make home made chia pets, concrete stepping stones for Mother's Day and home made wooden bird houses for Father's Day. We also have a "color" scavenger hunt that lasts all summer and completes a set of Rainbow I-spy sensory bottles" The kids look forward to those yearly activities for sure!
