  • Government Visit

Back in may of this year, all the daycares in the state of Alabama had to attend a health and safety basics course that's required by the government in order for us to keep our funding. During the course the instructor kept saying that they have until September 1st to come and inspect us. It is almost september and they are a no show. Anyone else had this problem?
We have done EVERYTHING they told us to!! 😡😡😡😡😡

We've never received anything from them. Told us at the meeting it would be unannounced and that it may or may not be our childcare specialist.

I'm not in Alabama course but I'm due for an inspection and my license renews on the 5th. The 4th is a labor day, I am closed on the 1st and tomorrow. And I have yet to see my surprise inspection. If for some inconceivable reason he doesn't approve me on time I would not be able to give my families proper notice. As the days get closer and closer to the first it's no longer a surprise.

Is this going to be a situation where the state requires a license but doesn't have the money or people to adequately oversee the program? It has happened before.

I know the lady that does inspectionsound I my area is spread your pretty things from what I understand.

Probably, told us they had hired several to do this. But if they can't do it, then why are they trying to scare us into following all of these new rules. Got enough to follow as it is

So they can keep their federal grants to be able to afford to oversee you.

Their training timeline is a little more complicated than ours.

Luckily we don't have to renew our licenses, ever. We just pay an annual fee. We're supposed to get inspected every year...but mine was due in March and it hasn't happened yet. The default is licensed.

HOW? I am amazed to hear this.

Renewing our license each year (Utah) is an expensive pain in the neck. For some reason I imagined that CA would have way more oversight than us. But no apparently.

We still have our yearly visit, but we're not penalized if it's late.

In my case, my licensor is on medical leave and they are struggling to handle her cases.

                            Government visit part 2

We've had too many children herein Alabama took too soon by these so called "teachers" that work in these daycares and now they are trying more than ever to implement a new law the requires ALL daycares that are religiously affiliated and not license to become license but here's.the problem its passed the senate but it needs the governors signature for it to be into law.

They were suppose to do this last year but it didn't happen they waited until this year to do anything and now everyone is mad and upset because they feel like nothing is being done and not only that but everyone is on pins and needles waiting

                              Oh no, that's horrible

Here in Cali, there's no such thing as license exempt really. The restrictions for the exempt are strict. You don't have to be licensed to watch one family's children. That's it. Otherwise, parents have to be on site...like the church nursery where parents are attending church service in the same facility.
