I am applying for my license. I moved to new home and my back yard is in progress. I want to include backyard also in my floor plan. What I have to show in my sketch? I am confused.

I would draw your backyard on a separate sheet of paper and then you can just line it up if they want to see it together. Backyards are not as important because you don't need to get very detailed. Make sure you use the same size measurement. If you used one of the grid charts to measure and draw out your floorplan, make sure to stay with the same measurements.
I would draw the basic outline of the yard. Make sure you draw in the fence and where your gate is if needed. Draw in the plants/trees and anything else that is landscaped: flower gardens, vegetable gardens, concrete or patio. Then add any large outdoor play toys into the picture like a swingset.
