    I am setting up a FAQ section for our website, but would love some more ideas!

    What are some questions parents have asked you during interviews?

    Feel free to share ridiculous ones as well as normal ones

    I'm watching this thread. Working on my website now and also doing an FAQ page.
    Children are little angels, even when they are little devils.
    They are also our future.

      What if we can't pay?

      What if I want to go by the tanning bed before pickup and I am late?

      I know you said you were off this day but can I bring my child anyway?

        Better yet,
        Why can't I bring little bit with a temp of 101.5?
        Why don't you take state Subsidy?
        Why don't you keep the children past a certain age?
        And yes all answered on my FAQs along with what if we don't pay & what if I pick up late and I know you are off but...

          I can't speak as to what parents ask during interviews but I just worked on this section for my website last week and this is what I came up with:

          Do you offer sibling discounts?
          Are you on the Food Program?
          Do you offer an organic or gluten free menu? What type of food do you serve?
          Do you have pets in your home? Are they separated from the daycare?
          Do you offer BLW (Baby Led Weaning)?
          Are you accepting part time children?
          Do you cut grapes?
          Do you have a pool?
          How are you ‘green’?
          Do you accept cloth diapers?
          Are your hours flexible?
          Do you take field trips?
          Do you transport children?
          Do you allow parents to visit?
          Do you offer a preschool program/curriculum?
          How many children are you licensed for?
          How big of a program will you run?
          But how do you watch all those children?
          Do you use screens in your program? If so, how often?
          How much time off do you take? How often should I expect daycare to be closed?

            Some to consider:

            What immunizations are the children required to have?

            How do I enroll my child or schedule a tour?

            What are the hours of operation? Do you offer after care?

            What is your child/teacher ratio?

            Does my child have to be potty trained?

            What is the educational background of the provider?

            Are all staff CPR trained?

            How do parents receive information?

            Do you offer field trips?

            What are your policies on discipline?

            How do you handle separation?

            Do you provide the snack at the school?

            What do I pack my child for lunch?

                  I don't have a FAQ section for general info but I do have one on my Wait list page. It describes how the wait list works and addresses common FAQ's about wait lists. (big shout out to Amy's Kids! happyface)

                  I think most of the suggestions everyone listed in previous posts is info that pretty much makes up my website in general so all the answers to those questions are answered within my site already.

                  For example, someone mentioned questions about food and what types of foods you offer etc and I have a whole page about meals and snacks on my site. Some one mentioned cloth diapers or having to pay when absent....I have an entire page/section devoted to care of infants, services I offer and payments (how they're set up, collected and enforced) so maybe I'm missing something but I don't see a need for a FAQ's section.

                  I think if I had one, most prospective clients would go straight to the FAQ section and just read that and not even bother with the rest of my site. I guess I see a FAQ section sort of like Cliff Notes.

                    I didn't read the other responses, but the most asked here are "why do we have to pay when he/she isn't there?", questions about my potty training philosophy, questions about my environment/schedule (play based-some parents tend to expect me to teach 4th grade).

                      I have a pretty extensive FAQ page with the following:

                      General Business Information
                      What are your business hours?
                      What type of program do you provide?
                      What age ranges do you accept?
                      Do I need to sign a contract?
                      What if I have a difficult schedule or my original needs
                      change?
                      What if my child has special needs?
                      Are you licensed?

                      Daily Routine & Schedule
                      When can I drop my child off?
                      When can I pick up my child?
                      Do you use vehicle transportation?
                      Do you provide meals?
                      Is there a nap-time?

                      Environment
                      What materials are available for my child?
                      Where do the children sleep?
                      Where do the children eat?

                      Communication
                      I'm not a client yet, can I visit without an appointment or arrive earlier or later than my appointment time?
                      I am a client, can I arrive and enter the daycare unannounced?
                      How will I know if my child did well during the day?

                      Illness & Safety
                      Is there an emergency plan in place?
                      What is the illness policy?
                      What if my child gets sick while at daycare?
                      How do you handle falls and small injuries?
                      What is your policy on immunizations?
                      What is your discipline policy?

                      Provider Training & Experience
                      How long has your daycare home been licensed?
                      Does the child care provider have training in childhood development?
                      Is the child care provider trained in CPR & First Aid?
                      Is the child care provider background checked?

                      Enrollment & Fees
                      How do I register my child?
                      What are your daycare rates?

                        This is so true I can see which pages get the most views on my site and Tuition/Enrollment is always first then FAQ is second.

                        Initially I had it all woven in but got tired to the same questions.

                          Yes BC that's true. I write in questions that I feel are important as well as those that people ask me. I'm thinking about revamping my FAQ and just having questions about payment, illness, absences and other "issues" that come up.

                            I've got a new job and need to pick up an hour later than before (after closed hours), that won't be a problem, will it?
                            Do you take PT? I work a rotating schedule and only need 3 days a week but the days will vary.

                            ITA, I've got most of the info parents want to know on my website. The most FAQ I get is about payment when I'm closed or when the child is absent, and PT schedules where they want to reserve a full week but just pay for the days they use.

                              I've never had a FAQ section before, but did put a list together of questions that parents usually ask at interviews. It helps when parents come and everything they were planning on asking, they forgot by the time they get here :P I'm hoping the FAQ help the flow of my site, not hinder it. I guess we'll see how it goes!
