I have an older dck who I swear, has a cough and runny nose 365 days a year. No exaggeration!! What makes me crazy is I have to tell her EVERY SINGLE day to cover her mouth or wipe her nose as she is licking the snot from her upper lip. And it old enough to know better. I am so sick of the sickness being spread around by some of my dcks this year, I am at my wits end!!!!

If it's year round with this one child could it be severe allergies? Is it clear drainage or colored (possible infection). Do her parents smoke? That was a big one with one of my past charges and he always had drainage & coughingOriginally posted by TSDaycare View Post
I only ask because I had a DCG that had bad issues before she was even 2 years old and after she was tested for food allergies - OMG this poor child was found to be allergic to her favorite things (25 so far just for food); we stopped feeding her the foods and no more sinus drainage or upset bellies/intestinal problems after a month (plus she was put on a decongestant). I personally cough quite a bit when my sinuses are having issues (like now with pollen). I also have itchy, tearing eyes

I was going to ask about allergies too. I've got acid reflux and allergies that cause coughing and a runny nose - but I use a tissue.

I send home for a constant runny nose...
That parent would either unenroll from here or actually take the child to the doctor (allergy doctor or pediatrician) to resolve the issue.Comment
