One of my old centers did toys like dishes: wash with soap/water, rinse, bleach soak for 2+ minutes, then air dry.
That is the regulation in my state for toys and "mouth contact surfaces" for a "child not toilet trained."
In my room (3-4 year olds), I usually wash the smaller toys with soap/water in the sink and let them air dry. I spray them with bleach if there's something particularly nasty going around. Although the nasty things have been missing my room so far this year.
