  • What Are Your Meal Times?

I apologize for all the questions today

Would you mind sharing your meal times? I am considering making mine:

    7:30 - 8:00am, Breakfast
    11:00 - 11:30am, Lunch
    3:00 - 3:20pm, PM snack

I am worried 3 hours is too long of a break between breakfast and lunch though. Thoughts?

I feed my kids breakfast at 7am (not a daycare meal, its right when I open, no one typically arrives until 715-7:30)

    9am Breakfast/snack
    12 Lunch
    3 Snack

    Works for us

Breakfast at 8-8:30 (seems so many of the dcks have 'a little something in the car over here')
Lunch is creeping up earlier every day it seems, I fed them today at a little before 11:00
        Snack will be at 2ish.

A.M. snack 9:00 (its actually breakfast but parents don't know that)

          12:00 lunch

          3:30 P.M. snack

Infants MUST arrive having been fully fed within 60 minutes of drop off.

Meal times are strictly enforced....children must be present AT meal time to receive the meal. I don't hold meals for anyone for any reason.

My PM snack is in reality 3:30, but we can't have meals scheduled more than 3 hours apart, so I have to have snack on their little tables ready to go at 3pm, but by the time they wake up, get changed, hands washed and at the table, its 3:30. Its dumb, I'm always worried about a food program visit right at the end of nap on a day the kids sleep late...but I'm not waking them up early just because its been too long since they are lunch

            Sorry for the OT rant

              12:00 - Lunch
              3:30 - PM Snack

My food program agency allows/encourages us to list meal times as 11:30-12:30 verses just saying 12:00.

So technically my meal times are listed as I posted previously with 30 minutes added on to the beginning and end times, even though I strive to serve AT the time I list in my handbook.

So parents read that A.M. snack is 9:00 but the food program lists my morning snack as 8:30-9:30.

That way if my food program rep shows up any time within that hour, I am good.

It also helps with the 3 hour meal spread rule.

You sound like me... little bit & little miss are hungry by 8:30a, so breakfast snack - all mine are 2 & under... most want to eat by 11am again, then 2pm snack... little miss gets an extra treat at 4:30 (oldest & here til 5:30-6pm)

Breakfast: 8:30-9:00 (my center opens at 7:30)
                          Lunch: 11:30-12
Snack: 3-3:30 (closer to 3:15 since kids are just waking up and need to get hands washed, etc., but our schedule says 3 )

                            Breakfast 7:00
                            morning snack 9:00
                            Lunch 12:00
                            afternoon snack 3:00

we must feed children at least every 3 hours per the regs , so this is the schedule that fits for me .

Breakfast 8:30, Lunch 12:00 (usually I wind up serving it earlier, around 11:30), Snack when they get up at 3:00. We have to have breakfast and lunch at least 3.5 hours apart by our rules which is why lunch is "officially" at 12 even though it's usually served around 11:40 (more because the kids are tired than because they are starving).
