  • Pace Feeding?

Anyone ever heard of pace feeding an infant? I don't know a thing about it and a daycare mom mentioned it this morning. What is pace feeding???

Never heard of it, but I Googled it and found lots of info on it.

Often, as infant feeding specialists, lactation consultants and other experts in the field of human lactation are asked how to properly bottle-feed a baby. Direct breastmilk feedings from the mother's breast are always preferred to any artificial source or substance. In addition, there are often alternatives to bottle-feeding, such as cup feeding, which should be explored. For the baby who has to be bottle-fed, following is some information to help make the experience a good one for the baby and also to make sure that breastfeeding is fully supported even when artificial feedings are used.

Many breastfeeding mothers rightly worry that bottle feeding may cause breastfeeding problems. Using the paced bottle feeding method can eliminate these problems and is healthier for formula fed babies as well.

that is so funny that you mentioned that because I have an infant that I 'am suing that method on and it has really been a game changer. It's basically a method of feeding the baby in a more upright position with the bottle level instead of tilted up.(gravity fed) That way they have to draw the milk out of the bottle more like breastfeeding. There are videos on it on youtube. The one I watched was one with a blonde lady that demonstrated it on a baby doll. For my little guy it has really helped him minimize spitting up. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. The first link black cat shared is a really good one, the video is really good.
