  • Foam Halloween Craft Ideas?

I need help. I have about 200 foam cut shapes of bats, cats, pumpkins, skulls, etc. I had a parent donate these to us which was nice, but other than covering them with glitter, stickers and etc what else in the world can I do with these?

I tired looking on pinterest and did not find anything.

    they look like this:

Buy Pumpkin Foam Shapes at Baker Ross. Foam pumpkin blanks for kids to personalise. Decorate with glitter, foam markers, stickers and wiggle-eyes (not included). 2 assorted colours. Size 14cm.

I thought they were kind of cool when they first started selling them.

You can find hundreds of different shapes in the Target $1 section depending on the holiday and/or time of year.

Of course, thinking they are cool didn't make them cool....::

They actually suck. They can't color on them with regular markers because the ink comes off onto their hands and if they want to glue things with them, you practically have to use super glue or a hot glue gun NEITHER of which I am allowing the kids to use...::

So....you can buy special "foam markers" (I got some from Michael's Crafts and Hobby Lobby) but other than that....I hate the foam shapes.

I let the kids color the ones I had with the foam markers and when the foam shapes were gone, I did a little happy dance.

hahah you are feeling my pain for sure..

yeah all of the poms and eyes fell off as soon as we picked them up. the only thing that held well was foam self-stick stickers and glitter.

I will have to go and get some of those at this point I am ready to throw them out....

What about hiding them in your backyard, giving each child a scavenger hunt sheet and having them search for them??? Then they can take them home! LOL!

Maybe you could punch holes in them and string them on a piece of yarn or string?

                I like daycarediva's idea!

Other than that, you could give them a glue stick and let them glue them on paper or on a big cardboard piece. I have the shapes that are stickers so they try to get the paper backing off (only one can actually do it) and then stick them on, this way they work on fine motor skills. My kids are younger so they love to do this.

You could play a game and have the kids close their eyes and feel one of the shapes and try to guess which shape it is.

I would have the kids make wreaths with them. Cut out the middle of a paper plate or card board circle and use tacky glue to glue the shapes onto it. Decorate with glitter, stickers, pom-poms, etc.

You could hot glue them on a big paper and then let them paint around it (sort of like a stencil). Then when it's dry, remove it
