  • MMK & Direct Deposit

I have a family who's starting direct deposit - woo hoo! I'm using MMK for record-keeping... Does anyone else use MMK with direct deposit? How do I record it, as a check?

The upside is the money will just appear in my account. The downside is there won't be a check to remind me to record the payment.

That would be fantastic, but they're not doing it through MMK - we use the same credit union so it's through them.

        Bummer....

I think I'd record it as cash or direct deposit. Checks ask for check numbers and you won't have one to provide for an audit. (if that ever actually happens, IDK)

Probably a one in a million problem to have, but it only takes the one to be a problem.... ::::

Personally I would just manually enter the payment and put "Dir Dep" into the box for the check #. I always write "cash" there when I get paid cash anyway. I had a client use Chase Bank like I do and use person-to-person e-pay to pay me so I would just put "Epay" into the box as soon as I got the payment.
