  • Sensory Play

In my house, if I don't schedule it, it doesn't happen. So, with that in mind, would it be weird? dumb? redundant? to schedule different types of sensory play for each day of the week and then repeat it?

    Like:
Monday: Rice box (which isn't always rice, but whatever)
    Tuesday: Playdough
    Wednesday: water
    Thursday: rice again
    Friday: Playdough again
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

not "weird/dumb " just do whatever works for you and your group

Nope, I think its a great idea. I also do better by setting a loose schedule of what we are doing that day.

I love the idea of a rough schedule or plan to keep on track.

I *always* have a schedule like that. I realized a long time ago that I easily forget to do things if they are not scheduled

I schedule exactly like that. For me it's necessary.

            For music I do it:

            Monday: play day
            Tuesday: sing-a-longs
            Wednesday: band in a box
Thursday: group singing with finger play songs
            Friday: freeze dance

              Sounds fun.

Try adding a birdseed one, then let them make ornaments/suet cakes from it. lovethis

We just did this and it was a blast!! They are watching the birds go at their "art" out the window right now.

Broke up the winter blahs for a bit and avoided the rice/bean drama. happyface
