  • DCP Says Employer Is Asking For W-10 From Me ???

    I found this very suspicious. DCP says she is filling out tax forms at work and asked me to fill out a w10.
    I have no problem filling it out, however, it sounds like BS to me. What does her employer need it for?

    ? A w10 should be filled out at the end of the year and given to the parent as far as I understand... Not sure why an employer would need it, but it wouldn't be correct if you filled it out now as the year hasn't ended, right?

        this is open enrollment time at work. health ins is only part of it. If they have a cafeteria plan they can pay for childcare with pre tax dollars. they would need your name address and tax id number. That s all that is on a W10

        a receipt is not on the form you add that.

        You will need to sign forms from them so they can receive their money back.
        It:: will wait

          THIS. I have a family on a flexible spending plan at work (if you're not familiar with what that is -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexible_spending_account ). Their employer needs your name, address, and Tax ID number.

          Also, look at the actual W-10 here: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Form-W-10,-De...-Certification . It's nothing more than a way to provide your tax id #. Don't sweat giving it to them.
