Another thread got me thinking...so if you are a informal care giver, and are over your limit with children, & if someone turns you in, what happens??

Are you asking if you are an unlicensed caregiver?
We got turned in and DHS showed up on our doorstep. I was in the process of getting my license so I only had to shut down for 2 months but it could have been much longer!
Also, we didn't have more kids than if we were licensed either...just no license. -
The NY regs should have info on that for you.
In Ca. you are charged a civil penalty of $200 per day if you are found to be in violation of licensing requirements, including not submitting and recieving approval to operate a child care home.Comment

Here, you do not need to have a license if you care for only 2 kids, so that is not an issue. I just wondered, what would happen if you had 3 or more. I don't, LOL but I was just curious. I know each state has it's own laws, and unfortunetly, there is not much info out there on the web about informal care givers.
