Why Cranky Mondays...

Change in routine over the weekend. Late nights and early mornings...likely being taken here and there and everywhere with Mom and Dad too! This time of year is likely worse since lots of family is visiting.
Just this morning, one Mom told me that her little guy would be tired since they were all over the place this weekend, little naps and staying up late. She said she had to pull him from bed and didn't have time to do anything but get him dressed...

I think it is the same reason people love Fridays. People want a break from work, school, daycare. Mondays are the end of that break. It makes people even kids cranky.
I'm fine with Monday crankies as long as families had a great time together over the weekend. I don't care how they had it (at the mall, out to dinner, a basketball game).

My kiddos all have the crankies too, back to 'work' for them as well. I cranked some christmas music this morning and we danced our grumpies out (me included!)

(zipping flame suit up).......
But I LOVE Mondays!! lovethis
My DCK's are always so eager to get back to out routine and always come in with a smile, nap time is fantastic because they are all tired and worn out from no consistency or no nap on the weekend and lunch time is just as nice since they are all starving too!
NOT saying all parents don't have a routine but when kids spend M-F her for a good protion of their day, this is normal to them and most of mine thrive on normal and the routine we have here.
Mondays are great days here and I look forward to them...but I guess I am one of those weird-o's that ALWAYS sees the glass as half full and if you really look at it closely, it is usually a little more than half full.

More and more often my kiddos are coming to daycare HAPPY and READY on Mondays. They are excited to see their friends, me, the cats... what's for breakfast! They are excited to see their favorite toys and have a SCHEDULE. Many adults don't realize that children thrive on schedules and they miss it when they aren't on one (I don't have many families that can keep their kiddo on schedule on weekends).
Hope things get better for everyone having a crumby Monday!

I also like Mondays. We get a lot done and I've rested even if I've worked at my part time job all weekend. It is a different side of my world. It also helps that I enjoy both of my jobs. I think there are a lot of people who hate their jobs and that makes Mondays even harder to take.

Monday is the one day that every child here falls asleep at rest time within 1 minute! I can tell they all had long weekends. But, I love it. I love Mondays far more than I love Fridays.

This is the exact reason I never take them on field trips on Mondays. Learned that lesson a few years back.lovethis daymommy to 7 kiddos - 5 girls and 2 boys
