I have had one DCK that has had a runny nose anywhere between clear and wet and green and thick, since September! No kidding...it's been on and off since then and this latest illness has seen it non-stop for about 3 weeks now...YUCK!
I have something in my contract also, just that if it is constant and the child is too little to know how to cover his/her mouth/nose while sneezing/coughing, then they must stay home.
I've sent a child home before because it was sooo bad. This child isn't in my care any longer, but he was the reason I made the rule! It leaves it a bit more up to me vs there has to be a fever and leaving it up to the parents to send them or not.
