Have you thought about doing your own assessments? There are things like the Ages and Stages Questionnaire that you could do and provide a copy to the parents. You could also use it to know where to focus your program or activites. Then leave the offer for the parents to discuss any of it with you. You could even include the number of your local birth to 3/infants and toddlers program for the parents to call for an indepth eval to see if they qualify for services. Most of the birth to 3/infant toddler programs used to have to be referred to by a physician but not any more. Parent can self refer now.

I have 3 kids here that have a therapist come out once every 2 weeks. 2 of them have the same physical therapist so she comes out and includes all the kids in the therapy. It helps the ones receiving services to to have their peers there.

She is a little different looking but I don't know if that has anything to do with anything. 1 or both of her eyes are a little farther apart.

She doesn't walk on her own, but will with a toy or along tables, or if you hold her hands.

She doesn't talk, just sort of grunts the same sound over and over. She's pretty happy for the most part, but just sits there or lays down on the ground and goes to sleep.

She is very raspy and has a deep cough. There is a lot of mucus and drs. say maybe she pools her saliva rather than swallowing it, (she doesn't drool though). She will often tip her head all the way back to look at things, maybe because of her eyes i am not sure.

The only real Health problem parents have informed me about is her hemangiomas which she is on medication for, and is slowly being weined off.

She drinks soy milk only because her mom finds regular milk to cause her to become too mucusy.

Does any of this sound the same as your little one????
This sounds different, and worse that the OPs description. If I were this child's parents, I would throw such a fit that my pediatrician would happily give me a referral to a specialist. I'd want one (a doctor) at a children's hospital.

How does she eat? Does she seem to see toys and objects well? HAs he hearing ever been tested?

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Just wanted to say, after some research and talking with some other people, I'm thinking the likely issue for this dcg is "Achondroplasia". I'm 99% positive she is a little person.
