  • Does Your Carpet Already Have Scotch Guard?

Did you ever get your carpets treated with a scotch guard treatment. If done by a good professional I hear they'll take the tedious efforts to rake in the scotch guard and the treatment will do wonders? Anyone experienced before and after scotch guard?

Our carpets were scotch guard treated when layed. But that was many many years ago. When I had my carpets professionally cleaned, they clened them, then they sprayed the scotch guard treatment on them. I have never heard of the scotch guard being raked into the carpets.

From my understanding, the scotch guard keeps the stains from seeping down into the fibers and gives a person the chance to get them cleaned up.

I would think though that everytime we shampoo our carpets, the scotch guard is removed along with the dirt, and unless you have it sprayed back on, the carpets no longer have it in them.

I use Bissel carpet cleaning solution that states on the bottle it has scotch guard in it to help repel stains.
