Remember this thread? "One of the Joys of Owning My Own Business"
I just want to tell those of you who were naysayers as well as those of you who cheered me on, that all is well with the world. I have not regretted my decision for a single instant.
She told me tonight that as of tomorrow, I will have another $60, putting him back up to full rate from now on. I cut a struggling mother a break (cut my own family a break because we needed every penny we could get this past few months), and it paid off--I trusted her, and the trust was well placed. She is still looking for a new job but was able to increase her hours at her current one in the meantime.
So those of you who insisted on thinking the worst, and assuming the worst, I just want to say: you were wrong.
I did it once, and I sure as heck would do it again in an instant. Single mother, single father, married couple, doesn't matter--I'm living the "world screwed me over, now I'm struggling" thing, and I know how much it sucks. The world is what you make of it--and I chose to make my little corner of the world here IRL a more inviting, more understanding place.
And I'm a better person because of it.
