DCK has a runny nose (cloudy, not green) and an occasional cough. I went to change DCK and noticed tiny bumps on her bottom.

Would you send home for that if you suspected HFM?

I send kids home for any undiagnosed rash other than diaper rash. If I suspected HFM, I would definitely send home because it's so contagious and while it's usually mild, that isn't always the case.

my great-niece siblings have sensitive skin like their momma (my niece) and they can touch a fabric and turn blotchy-red but it goes away shortly....maybe it is like that???

Personally, I haven't seen that happen, but I'd go with Annalee's explanation and be thrilled it wasn't HFM. ;-)
