  • Legally Unlicensed In FL - Need A Written Agreement?

Do you think a legally unlicensed in-home childcare provider in Florida (caring for only one family) needs forms and written statements, signatures, etc.?

I have often worked informally, with minimal paperwork whenever I can, but you most definitely will want the ability to get medical care for the kids in an emergency, so they will need to sign that. It probably wouldn't hurt to type up what you guys talked about as far as costs, times, or whatever is important to you and sign the copies for both of you to have. Just in case there is an issue.

I think a written agreement is needed for all forms of business regardless of how small the business is, and emergency information is a must when dealing with children. Society today can be sued, audited, etc. without any notice. It is better to be prepared with appropriate paperwork.

              Florida Business Registration

If you are taking any money, I would recommend filing here as an LLC in addition to state childcare registration. http://dos.myflorida.com/sunbiz/

I'd also reach out to https://www.southernearlychildhood.org/ for help with registration/legal setup.
