  • What's Your Favorite Book?

I was thinking about buying some new books and I am wondering what are your top 5 "must have" books?

    Right now for me,
    1. Guess How Much I Love You (brings me to tears)
    2. Click Clack Moo, Cows That Type (also brings me to tears...laughing!)
    3. Giraffe's Don't Dance (Hilarious!)
    4. I Love You Stinky Face (Makes the kids laugh hysterically)
    5. Are You My Mother (a favorite from childhood)

    1) Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
    2) The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales
    3) There's a Monster at the End of this Book! Starring Loveable, Furry, Old Grover (there are 2)
    4) Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
    5) The Sneetches (Dr. Seuss)

Can you tell I grew up in the 80's?

    Also,
    Hi, Pizza Man!
    Where the Wild Things Are
    Courdoroy
    All Shel Silverstein books
There's a Wocket in My Pocket
    Matilda
The Phantom Tollbooth (older, like 4th grade)

The Magic Hat-Very fun rhyming book
Cowboy Camp-My boys love this one
              Big Bad Wolf is Good
              Silly Sally
              Green Eggs and Ham

Most of them are by no means classics, but they are the books the kids want read again and again, and again. I think the big thing is to consider what the kids are interested in. The cowboy camp book is so popular because the little guy thinks he is a cowboy and the kids like the voices I do with the book. Same thing with the Big Bad Wolf book, for some reason I have given all the characters southern voices in that one. For me, voices make all the difference, but I'm sure everyone else does something similar!

Wow maybe it's just my DC kids then but I was surprised that Chicka Chicka Boom Boom wasn't in here. I have to read this book at least once a week and if the kids had a say in it I'd be reading it every day. Every time that it's kids pick of the stories guess what one of the stories is? .

I have 4 toddler girls that LOVE this book because the 4 fairies in the book looks exactly like each of them and instead of the character names I use the dc girls names - "Rosies Magical Hide-and-Seek

                  Your My Little Love Bug
                  Its Naptime, Little One
